It seems I have somehow become the sole mod for this community. Would someone like to take over moderation for this journal? I can not remove myself from this journal community unless I delete it, or give mod over to someone else.

Onward to RL! CHARGE!

Its been fun, but I stopped playing WoW as of a few months ago. Good luck, take care :)

Black Market

The Black Market
War is very much a reality for our people. Living, undead, Horde, or Alliance we all face conflict, and now we must brave the North. The Horde now must arm itself against a foe, the likes they have not faced in many years. Once more the Black Market is opening its doors, but this time for a greater cause.

Date: Jan 24th, 2009 a Saturday.
Time:  8pm est/server time.
Faction: Horde, Alliance players are welcome to attend on their lowbies/rerolls. No pvp.
Location: The Undercity, rogue quarters. The vacant half of the Rogue quarters, where the empty vendor stalls are located. This is the same location as last year’s Black Market.
Server: Steamwheedle
Contact: Banshih

Crafters: Alexiel (Tailoring), Urt (Blacksmith),Plaguewalker (Jewelcrafting), Bdullah (Alchemy), Leiwin (Enchanting), Rikora (Engineering), Banshih (Leatherworking). Every crafter is lvl 80, with their profession maxed out.

OOC Summary: This is a crafting event, which offers the rp community free leveling and rp gear/items. Crafting services will be available to -ALL- level of players. There is a limited supply of FREE crafting materials for the public. Once supplies run out, players will need to provide their own materials. Free crafting requests need to be reasonable: i.e. we will not provide a free mongoose enchant for a lvl 4 character/weapon “because it looks cool”. Reasonable RP gear requests are acceptable.

Crafters reserve the right to deny players services. If a crafter does not have the materials to create an item, it is the player responsibility to provide the material. Crafters do not have a supply of exotic crafting materials; crafters have a supple of standard mats (bolts of cloth, ore, standard herbs, etc).

RP: Please stay and mingle, and meet other players. There will be a number of rp waiters walking around, and a possible surprise mini Crashin' Thrashin' Racer contest. This is a server event, and will have many players and guilds in attendance.

Raffle: There is a free of cost raffle. The raffle is a give away 2 scrolls of mongoose, to players who can properly make use of this enchant. I.e. a level 5, and a mage would not be able to enter the raffle. A lvl 80 rogue/warrior/melee class would. These scrolls have been provided by Zamboozle.

Dance of the Dead - Oct 19th

Dance of the Dead

Dance of the Dead 2008
"Once a year, a great gala was hosted by the Lord and Lady of Caer Darrow to celebrate the harvest season. Since the fall of the once great castle and city, the Forsaken and others have gathered annually to continue this tradition from years past. As the land, and the very people have been twisted, so too has this once joyous celebration. "

Date: Oct 11th, 2008

Hunt Start:Contact Banshih or Charam for details (whispers or send a letter)
Contests & Events: Begin after the RP/PVP Hunt has finished - details below
Where: Caer Darrow - Western PlagueLands

----------------------

‘The Hunt’ RP PVP Event:
"As with many grand galas, the Lord and Lady opened theirs with a ceremonial grand hunt. A deer was hunted, and slain, an offering to the old ways in hopes for good fortune for the upcoming winter. The animals are now sickly, and the Forsaken residents have no taste for the flesh of animals...."

The key rp event for this will be a 'wild' hunt, a pvp event in the plaguelands. A selection of volunteer Alliance RPers will be captured beforehand and held. As the evening starts, they unlucky souls will be stripped of their finest gear, given only the most basic of supplies, and sent to run the wilds....to hunt. How fortunate for those Alliance that they have peers who have been looking for them.

This event is intended as a sort of pvp race. The hunted will be without a mount, and with white to grey quality gear. The hunted do need to be lvls 65+ to survive the plagueland setting. How many captives, and Alliance rescuers we will use will be scaled to how many higher lvl Horde are in attendance. The ideal lvl for this event is 65+ , for the sake of survivality in the plaguelands against the various mobs. There are a few basic concerns for this event, which will be discussed with those who are involved with it.

The hunt ends once all captives have made their escape, or been slain. This will not be a case of perma death, as the bodies would be returned to the Darrow for display, and once the event is over.....the Alliance could easily step in to Resurrect the unlucky person once the event is over.

Alliance coordinator for the pvp event: Charam, Second pending

Horde coordinator for the pvp event: Banshih, Second pending

Alliance prisoners for 'The Hunt': (Pending, still sorting out players - contact Charam if interested)

OFFICIAL Alliance guilds participating/sponsor: Alkahest (more pending, final details to come soon)

OFFICIAL Horde guilds participarting/sponsor: Ordo, Paradigm, Shattered Oath, Steadfast

**Pardon the incomplete info ATM - we are finalising details**

For Alliance players: There are two Alliance coordinators for this year. Please refer to those coordinators to sign up for this event. To be a ‘prisoner/victim’ you must be a level 70 player. To be a part of the rescue parties you need to be level 65+. The island of the Caer Darrow is where the actual nonpvp rp is taking place, Alliance players are to remain off the island out of respect for peaceful rp taking place there that is not connected to the pvp event.

Travel to: We have a warlock volunteer for summoning, and also a meeting stone (granted, it has limited lvl ranges) on location. The area can be walked to, or ran up to by anyone lvl 20+ if you simply run north along the river outside of TMills. Along the river there are no mobs that will aggro upon low levels, making for a safe trip.

New to RP?

Hello all! I recently just joined this server. I have a human rogue, named Harlyquinn.

She gets quite lonely from time to time. Perhaps there might be guilds recruiting? Or possibly people who would just enjoy someone to level with? Either way, I'm new around these parts, so a new friend is always nice. :)

Stormwind College will host an historical walking tour of the Eastern Kingdoms, or at least the part of it between Menethil Harbor and Stormwind, on Wednesday July 28 at 8 bells after midday.

((Flight-point walking tour!  I really hope someone goes who knows the lore pretty well, because otherwise I will be quoting from wowwiki.  Smile  We'll be holding more of these, I just want to get the first one going. ))

ERA Recruitment Drive

Greeting and hello, Steamwheedle Cartel!  Zorqua the Imp here, star of stage, screen, and radio.  Master of fire, ladies' imp, presidential candidate, and humble servant of Meerlinda Cogspinner.  But you already know all of that, right?

...right?

No?

Oh, well.  Today, I am here on behalf of the Elite Response Agency.  Recently, the ERA has suffered a few unfortunate setbacks, and is looking to bolster it's membership with fresh, friendly faces (ooh, alliteration!).  We're a light-to-medium RP guild in the Alliance, and we're looking to return to our RP roots (we recently just held a successful RP event in Azshara) .  Sure, sure, we dabble a bit in raiding and PvP on the side, but our main focus is getting together and having fun.  We pride ourselves on having a relaxed atmosphere.

You'll have to pardon the dust around the guild hall.  We're currently going through a bit of a rebuilding period.

...hmm... what else might be good to know?  Well, we have a tabard, a Vent server, a forum, and a fairly well stocked bank.  We're also part of an alliance of guilds that raids/tries to raid fairly regularly.  Many of us also are known for taking part in RP channels.

Sound like something you might be interested in? Great!  Here's some info you'll need to know before joining.  Dalrick's our head honcho, and there is a little matter of an application process, but I'm sure that it's all just a formality.  I think.  Or not.

Well, anyway, I thank you for your time and look forward to seeing you soon!

-Zorqua the Imp

Tribune of the Horde

Tribune of the Horde

The treaty remains scattered and forgotten, and war has returned to our lands. The forests of Ashenvale, the foothills of Hillsbrad, the mountains of Alterac, even in other worlds… war has come to the Alliance and the Horde. Although we have made many great strides in taming and defeating the dangers of the Outlands, and much of Old Azeroth..many threats still linger in the shadows…

Who chooses our fate? How do the people voice their concern and desires? Who decide what matters most to the people and how to appease such matters? It has been many months since a benevolent council has held sway over the politics of the Horde. In the upcoming week a gathering will be hosted where the races of the Horde shall gather and through elected Diplomats they may voice their concerns and bring them before the War Chief.

The Tribune is an open exchange where the races may each have a reprehensive to speak on their behalf before a council of peers. These gatherings are where free thought, discussion, and verbal exchanged concerning our shared fates maybe shared. This event is open to ALL of the Horde.

-------------------

Date: July 27th

Time: 10pm est / server time

Server: Steamwheedle (US)

Diplomats: Mathadris (Blood Elf), Rikora (Orc), Mooth (Tauren), Tazdangor (Troll), Ryutan (Undead)

Nominations for Diplomats: Ended June 31st

Where: Inside of ZG. Warlock summons will be available, as well as summoning stone summons. Due to heavy traffic, and easy casual access by greifers the Tribune will not be hosted in a Major city. To accommodate the location, a Scribe will be in attendance to collect notes and send back the events of this gathering to the War Chief. There is no level requirement to attend at this location.

Presentation Order:  The order in which the Diplomats will speak and conduct their presentation is based on their races membership within the Horde. Out of respect the eldest races shall speak first, and then be preceded by the newer members. The order stands as Orcs first, Trolls, Tauren, Undead, and Blood Elves last.

Who may attend: Characters do NOT have to be a Diplomat to attend this event, it is open to ALL of the Horde. More so, after a Diplomats presentation the attending audience is welcome to ask questions, and otherwise engage with the Diplomat who had presented. This event is a forum for exchange and ideas about the state and future of the Horde. Furthermore player who are not Diplomats are encouraged to talk to your Diplomats and let them know of any concerns you would like your Diplomat to address on behalf of your race.

Attire: Formal

Faction: Strictly, and pure Horde. Alliance and enemies of the Horde found in attendance face IC backlash – if you bring an Alliance character into this event it will be treated as a spy IC and face very harsh / violent reactions. In choosing to bring your Alliance toon to the event, you agree to and understand that your character is in physical danger if discovered. Further more, Alliance spies agree to rp the consequence of their own actions if they attend this event (permadeath will not be used on Alliance if any are discovered).

OOC verses IC: This is an IC rp event. The concerns and views addressed are to be oriented in game and not be ooc concerns or problems. Perhaps at a late date we should host an ooc event – however this event is oriented towards the political, military, and social nature of the IC Horde. Keep your rp strictly ic, and your ooc strictly ooc.

Lore: This event is lore based and oriented. Until the content exists in game please do not make use of it (i.e. Wrath is not yet out and the lore in the upcoming expansion may change at any time. For example – characters may talk about the Scourge threat – but details and information about Death Knight player characters would be limited to nonexistent as the content as the expansion is not yet official or yet published in game. At any point in time Blizzard could change or alter the unpublished lore.)

Questions?: Contact Banshih, or Mathadris ooc. For IC questions and concerns speak with yur races Diplomat.

------------------------------------

Date: To be announced. Nominations for Diplomats are currently open. Details for nominations are listed below.

Time: Evening pm hours most likely around 9pm

Where: ZG noninstance version, at the Snake boss ruins. Warlock summons will be available.  We would like to host this event in Thrall’s chambers – however quest to the high traffic of the area and questing in that area we feel there would be too many distractions. A scribe will be in attendance of the meeting who will take the meeting and its notes back to Thrall himself.

Attire: Formal

Who?: Any and all Horde regardless of guild or race.

Faction: Strictly, and pure Horde. Alliance and enemies of the Horde found in attendance fact IC backlash – if you bring an Alliance character into this event it will be treated as a spy IC and face very harsh / violent reactions. In choosing to bring your Alliance toon to the event, you agree to and understand that your character is in physical danger if discovered. Further more, Alliance spies agree to rp the consequence of their own actions if they attend this event (permadeath will not be used on Alliance if any are discovered).

Diplomats: The ideal diplomat should be the embodiment of their Race.  There will be two diplomats per Horde race – elected from popular nomination and vote. There will be a primary Diplomat who will take the floor, and a secondary supporting Diplomat who will assist the Primary Diplomat stand in the stead of the Primary Diplomat if the Primary is absent.

Diplomat duties:  To collect the top 5 concerns of your people, and present them before a council of your peers.  Diplomats are to collect a wide range of concerns and problems from as many of their peers as possible to allow as my characters a chance to voice their concerns, and ideas. There are many means to conduct such a survey – such as in person communication, or even the mail system. Members of the Horde are encouraged to find and address their Diplomat with their top 5 concerns and ideas for the Horde.

At the council, each Diplomat will be given a respectable time to address the concerns of their race before an audience of their peers. Afterwards, the audience may engage with the Diplomat who holds the floor to speak in regards to the matters addressed.
Horde members attending: Those members of the Horde attending are welcome to sit and listen and even engage with the diplomats. After a Diplomat has held the floor – the diplomat will then open the floor to five members of the horde (selected by dice rolling for top 5 if there are more then 5 players wanting to speak). Those members of the Horde may freely engage in debate, counter, or even provide and suggest solutions to the problems. There will be a time limit, so players will be asked to not afk and post in a time effective manner so other characters may take their turn.

For example – characters may talk about the Scourge threat – but details and information about Death Knight player characters would be limited to nonexistant as the content as the expansion is not yet official or yet published in game. At any point in time Blizzard could change or alter the unpublished lore.)

Diplomats Nominated (nominations open – please submit your nominations):
Blood Elf -
Orc -
Tauren -
Troll -
Undead –

How to nominate a diplomat: IC….ballots have been sent out and arriving in the mail for members of the Horde, to elect a voice for themselves from among their peers. Characters may submit their nominations via mailsystem. OOC – post in the forums your characters mailed in nominations, or submit an in game mail/whisper to Banshih, or Mathadris. Nominations end June 30th, diplomats announced July1st.

Keep in mind – those nominated are being elected into a political position.  This is not a case of who is the most popular – but someone who is the best suited for the job. Characters with Ic criminal histories, and concepts that would never make sense for such a role (known criminals, known enemies of the Horde, etc would not be an ideal diplomat). What would your character want to represent for their race?

But then again..what is politics without a few scandals?
